69th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights

"Everyone has the right to seek and to enjoy in other countries asylum from persecution." – on this day 69 years ago the Universal Declaration of Human Rights was adopted by the United Nations General Assembly with the quoted Article 14, laying foundations for the modern asylum system principles. EASO, in cooperation with the EU Member States strives every day at to train the asylum practitioners to act with respect for these rights and freedoms. EASO’s Training Module on Fundamental Rights and International Protection in the EU supports case officers, legal and reception officers, COI experts, border guards, policy makers and other personnel working at different stages of the asylum process, to facilitate and promote the implementation of fundamental rights in their respective activities.

Referral of and assistance for victims of human trafficking in Europe

The Ministry of Interior of Hungary, the Ministry of Security and Justice of The Netherlands and Payoke vzw of Belgium submitted an application „Referral of and assistance for victims of human trafficking in Europe” (hereinafter RAVOT-EUR) for Action Grants under the Programme “Prevention of and Fight against Crime” 2012 ISEC General Call for Proposals of the European Commission.
